Wedding Weekend in Houston, pt. 1

Many month ago Hunter was asked to be in a wedding in mid April.  Jared's dad was one of Mark's college roommates, and Hunter grew up spending many vacations and lots of time with his family.  Our transplant was already in the works, so Hunter said maybe to being in his wedding in Houston.  It just so happened to work out that we could be there for Jared's wedding then check in Tuesday in the hospital to start our transplant.  The biggest bonus was another few days with the boys.  We treasured every moment of our last weekend together.  We hit up the Houston zoo, enjoyed the square in Sugarland, went to the beach in Galveston, and hit up the Pleasure pier.  I had to split up my hundreds of pictures into several posts.

Hunter wanted a new clean hat for after chemo, so we took the boys to get them all matching.  Benton went with him, and picked out the Houston Astros hat and said "H is for Hanner."  While we are more fond of the Rangers, Benton's choice was too cute.  It's stuck quite well, and we started calling ourselves "Team Hanner" from little man's choice.

We found a yummy place to eat breakfast within walking distance of our hotel.  It just so happened that they put the gelato right when you walk in.  So, for the first time ever, the boys had ice cream for breakfast.  They didn't complain too much.

We were looking for a park or some place to let the kids run off some steam before their naps.  There was a carnival set up in the town square and it ended up being just perfect for our little crew.
 There was face painting....

 carnival games.....

 bird house painting.....

 and balloons.
Give four boys swords, and they know how to use them.

After a yummy lunch, everyone was worn out and ready to lay down.  We had a great morning, and after naps got ready to celebrate Erin and Jared.
