We only have one more day of chemo, a day of rest, then Friday is transplant day! We are glad to be almost done with chemo, because all this poison is really giving Hunter's liver a workout. Last night's rounds mentioned that his liver enzymes were climbing. This morning they were again higher than the normal range. He was taken for an ultrasound this afternoon, and his liver looked good. However, his liver needs to rest to recover. Hunter will have his last dose of chemo tomorrow because he has to condition his body properly for the transplant. All other medicines that go through the liver have been put on hold. This includes his acyclovir (his anti-viral), plus some others, so we would rather him get back on those sooner rather than later. His doctors have assured us not to worry, that they will monitor this properly and adjust his doses as needed. Easier said then done. We would love for you to pray specifically for Hunter's liver.
Hunter's companion for lots of the next year, his mask, has made it's debut. He only has to wear it when he's out of his room right now. While he's not necessarily excited to get to wear it, it will filter out lots of germs that he doesn't need. We think it needs a name for the sake of the boys. The twins are not super comfortable with Hunter's haircut, and request that he put on a hat when we facetime. We need to come up with a way for the boys to think Hunter's mask is cool. I've suggested fighter pilot, what can someone else creative come up with?
real men wear pink.....because that's his only color choice
Ready, set, go...name this mask! Manly, kid, and family friendly to all the Moonies reading.
What a trooper! He's still smiling and happy.
Forgot to mention that his ear is infected and his tube fell out, hence the IV.
Thanks for all who are praying for #teamHanner! We were blessed by having dinner delivered to the parking lot last night by some of our college friends, as well as diner delivered to our house. What a blessing!
We hope to astound the doctor with Hunter's liver enzyme numbers tomorrow, and that Caleb will breathe easier tonight!
Love to all,
The Hanners

We are going for a "Rooster" mask. Kind of looks like a Darth Vadar mask too! But...... rooster is way more fun for kids.
Continued prayers for Hunter's liver. Also, lifting up Caleb for better breathing. Praying an extra measure of strength and energy to your mom and family keeping the boys. The mask looks like a "Pinky." :)
Scuba diving daddy??
You should just give the mask a fun name...like George or Herman or something fun like that! Since it is pink, maybe you should call it Ethel? Ha!
