Coming Home

After spending Saturday through Thursday in the hospital, we was ready to come home! I had wonderful nurses, but I was tired of the food, frequent checks, and commotion of the hospital.

The boys had spent the first two nights completely in the nursery so I could "rest" by Wednesday night I decided I was ready to do their night feeds too. Thursday morning I was clear to get released, but we had to wait on Clayton's jaundice results to come back before he could leave. By 10:00 we got the all clear from his pedi and were just waiting to be checked out. Our bags were full, I skipped ordering lunch holding out for something better, and we were chomping at the bit. Apparently so was the entire floor.

It ended up that we didn't get out of there until after 2:30. I was hungry, exhausted, my pain meds had worn out, and very emotional. Poor Hunter! I cried in the room because I wanted to go home, and cried as we drove off because I was so grateful we got to go home with healthy babies. Needless to say, I was not really up for posing for pics at the front door. I was happy to crawl into my own bed and eat!

Since I went into the hospital unexpectedly to have them, I wasn't quite ready at home. Honey and Nana both stayed over for a few days helping us set up the house and figure things out. The babies loved sleeping together in their cradle in our room. Our moms were life savers. One would take the "early night shift" and in the middle of the night the other would wake up to help me with a feed. My wonderful hubby is more of a day shift kinda guy, so he slept in the bed set up in the twins room. Hunter took a week off work, and was probably ready to go back the the dealership to get some rest! Clayton did some sunning to get rid of his jaundice, and looked quite angelic doing it!
