1 Month

It was a very busy first month at the Hanner house. Thankfully, we had help from family around the clock. Honey took two weeks off work, and spent almost every waking moment at our house. When you have a baby, sometimes you just want your momma to take care of you. Honey is an amazing example of how to be a selfless mom. Thanks also to Poppa for sharing!

Nana was awesome taking care of our needs. She kept Benton for the first week when he was sick, fixed many meals, folded tons of laundry, and stayed over Sunday and Thursday nights. Not many people can say this, but my mother-in-law is truly a blessing in my life. Hunter helped Tuesday and Sunday nights and pitched in when he got home from work. GG Gwen showed up most days to help hold down the fort while our moms went to work. Our church family sent meals for six weeks. When asked how I was surviving, I was quick to point out we had tons of help!

Caleb Chase
3 week weight 6 lbs. 10 oz
size Newborn diapers
Newborn clothes and some 0-3

Clayton Zachary
estimated weight 8-9 lbs
size 1 diapers
0-3 month and 3 month clothes

I wish I would have updates as we went, because these months all run together! Best I can remember, the boys were eating every three hours around the clock at 1 month. They were still figuring out that we needed to go right back to sleep after we ate at night. With Benton, I was a stickler about him sleeping in his cradle only. With these guys, they started out in the cradle. If they were still fussing, we would try to burp. After strike two, they moved to the swing. If they were still unhappy Nana or Honey would put them next to them in bed. You gotta do what you gotta do! I could handle waking up twice in the night for feeds and not be a zombie if I could sleep in come morning time. There were many a morning when I felt sorry for Honey and Nana going to work on just a few hours of sleep. Tuesdays and Thursdays were a catch up day while Benton went to school.

We had everything we needed for the night stationed between us on the bed. After diaper changes we just threw them out the door so we didn't have to smell them. Hunter could gauge our night by the amount of diapers outside. I think the record was 14 in one night. That's a lot of poop! Our families were incredible to do most of the work, while I fed, loved on my kids, and slept:)

What an incredible mommy you are! Benton, Caleb and Clayton are lucky to have a mommy that is so in tune to their every need. I am so proud of you and love those precious little boys!
