Caleb Chase at 9 months

 At 9 months Caleb:

• is on the move!  He started crawling at 8 1/2 months.  He started out on all fours at 8 months, went backwards for a couple weeks, then army crawled forward.  Now he gets anywhere he would like.  He is not adventuring all over the house yet.  Caleb is constantly moving somewhere.  If you're holding him he's crawling all over you.  He is one busy boy.
• can get from his tummy to sitting, and from sitting to standing.  He is still trying to figure out exactly how close to get to things to pull up on.  I've even seen him cruise around his music table.  I'm not ready for all this moving!  Naps have been an issue as I frequently find him standing in his crib instead of sleeping.  Hopefully this will pass soon.  He is really determined in whatever he's working at.
• loves his momma.  He likes to be able to see me when he is playing.  We are working on being a little more independent for a few minutes each day.  He says momma when he's upset.
• got his two bottom teeth at the same time.  He was 7 1/2 months and it didn't cause too much fussing.
• could take or leave food.  Caleb prefers to eat chunks and chew up his food.  When he doesn't love something he barely cracks his mouth open.  Carrots and sweet potatoes are his favorite veggies.  Others are a little of a struggle, and Clayton is usually happy to eat his share.  Caleb does love his fruits.  He is not the most fun to feed.  He does a pretty good job of drinking from his own sippy.
• is such a flirt.  He loves to smile at others with his toothy little grin.  A new development is a fake cry where he wrinkles up his little nose.
• sucks his right thumb when he's tired.  Caleb loves to get his thumb and his blanket and get in his bed.  He requires a little more sleep than his brother.
• might have some asthma.  During our last cold stretch, if he got real upset he would cough and struggle taking deep breaths until I gave him a breathing treatment.  Hopefully we will outgrown that soon.
• loves his brothers.  Benton gets lots of giggles out of Caleb.  He also enjoys big cousin Clara.
