Thanksgiving 2015

In an effort to keep our family scrapbook going, I'm planning on going back to update what's been keeping us busy the last few months.  My last update was in November, so backing up....

Our Thanksgiving was a little different this year.  Mark, Chase, and Hunter were signed up to go on a once-in-a-lifetime Canadian deer hunt in 2014.  Hunter was laying in a hospital bed, and there was no way the other two would go without him.  Their guide was incredible and allowed them to postpone.  So, this year the best time for hunting fell on the week of Thanksgiving.  They had an absolute blast, and Hunter shot a nice buck and Chase shot an incredible deer.  After all the stress of the last year, it was so fun to get all their text messages and hear the joy in their voices at their time spent together.  I know they will never forget this week!
It was as cold as it looks!
The boys and I went with Nana, Erin, Michael, and Hank to San Antonio.  We stayed at the Wild Oaks Ranch.  It was so fun!  We did Sea World, the San Antonio Zoo, swam, went to a movie, and did some kids Christmas events at the hotel.  A friend of a friend works with the killer whales at Sea World, and arranged for us to get to come meet them after the show.  They are beautiful animals, and we loved getting to see them up close.  Benton learned some commands and pretty quick was dancing with her and having the whale spray water on us.

Hank was loving Benton this trip:)
San Antonio zoo
It drizzled on us all day, but gift shop umbrellas saved us from being soaked
The lion cubs were our favorite.  If they came over to the male, he would swat them away and roar.  I feel ya momma lion!
Nana the bird lady

Sea World opened at 3, so we walked a lot of miles this day!

Benton decided to sit in the splash zone even though it was about 40 degrees outside

Shutting down the park with their prizes

Thanksgiving lunch, a nap, then a movie:)

Clayton could hear his bell after watching the "Polar Express"

This didn't feel quite right....swimming outdoors in November!

The boys have always been good travelers, and it was nice that they are at the age to color and be easy to entertain in the room.  After a great week, we were happy to be reunited with Hunter.  God has had his hand on us over the past year!  We have so much to be thankful for!
