Happy 2011!

Nana and G-Daddy were kind enough to come get Benton for New Years. After not much pondering, we decide to get Olive Garden to go and stay in. Hunter had a crazy week at the work, and I was exhausted myself. I think we were asleep by 10:30! You know you're getting old when the prospect of a quiet evening by the fire sounds a lot more enjoyable than going out and staying up late. Benton went to go to bed early because he was going on his first duck hunt with the boys the next morning.

I packed up all his camo gear and away they went for pancakes. It was reported to me that little man was really confused as to why he was waking up so early. He sat very still and quiet while hunting and was enthralled with all the ducks on the water and flying around. The boys got a good laugh as the singing of "Do You Know the Muffin Man" interrupted their otherwise quiet morning. Hunter did say that Benton screamed with fear when Fred jumped in the water to go get a duck. Guess the sweet boy didn't realize that dogs can swim. Overall I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Uncle Chase was happy Benton didn't scare off any ducks, Daddy was happy Benton wasn't afraid of gunfire, and Benton was happy to go anywhere with the boys.
Here are the happy hunters upon their return. I know this was a fun day for Benton's daddy and the first of many hours spent outdoors hunting together!

I guess Benton was in the picture taking mood, because he kept telling me cheese. This past few weeks have been very eye opening to this momma. How is he old enough to ski, ride a four wheeler, and go hunting? Time just flies when you're having fun!
