When deciding upon a name for our third son, we knew we wanted to name him after someone he could look up to, come to for advice, and to teach him how to navigate the trials and tribulations of this life. We believe that you are one person who he can share the good times and lean on in the hard times.
The person you are today is a far cry from the person we met 10 years ago at ACU. You have always been the life of the party, the guy who could tell a story from here to San Angelo (and probably back)! You always are the one who remembers all the good times, the funny quotes, and your wit has always made you so fun to be around. Instead of punching Hunter in the face when he woke you with a spotlight or pretends to walk out the door to class at 7:30, you instead just scramble out of bed, laugh, and it becomes just another Zach story of your college days.
It has been quite a transformation from the (somewhat irresponsible) college student to the man you are today. It can be said you weren't really known for your patience at one time. I don't know if it's being married to Michelle (or just joining the Hathorn family) but now your managers bring the upset customers to you to deal with. The guy who seemed incapable of hanging up his United shirt every day after work to avoid wrinkles just completely remodeled his house while working a full time job. You have taught yourself how to play the piano, guitar, and have become very handy around the house. We hope that you will instill in our sons the ability to learn and master new skills.
The love you have for the Lord and for you family is evident to all who know you. You have a thirst to learn more about the Bible and have ministered to kids from high school to the two year old class. Your family's needs are always put above your needs. From making orange rolls in the morning to packing kids' lunches you have always been a hands on, involved family man. When no one else was willing to jump up and replace Clara's paci for the twentyith time of the night, you would. When your family needed to move in with the in-laws, you would. When you needed to wait tables, you would. If you need groceries, you will do it and take both kids with you. Kids of all ages are drawn to you, because your love for them is clear. You are already a wonderful Uncle to Benton, and those are a few reasons we would like to name our son
