Dallas Zoo

A few weekends ago, Hunter and Chase were in a wedding just outside of Dallas. His cousin Shannon, who lives nearby, graciously invited us to come stay with her. Nana and G-Daddy were kind enough to come with us to keep our kids while we attended wedding festivities. We wanted be sure and squeeze in some activities that our little man would enjoy, so bright and early Saturday morning we headed to the Dallas Zoo. We knew it would be hot, and it did not disappoint. Benton had a big time, the babies did amazingly well in the stifling heat, and we got to see the beavers, naked mole rats, and mongooses making babies.
Shannon's daughter Sydney was very sweet with Benton. He still talks about his friend "Cindy" and her toys.
Poor babies! We parked them in front of the mister and hat wet rags on them the whole day. They are troopers for sure.

Benton loved this tunnel that peeked into the mongoose habitat.
The adults were hoping Sydney wasn't noticing this on the rock beside them. Ha!
In the middle of their childrens' zoo there was a stream. All the kids were playing in it, and I wished I was too!

These pictures all came from inside the restaurant at the zoo. It was wonderful to be in air conditioning, and the lions were all curled up asleep right next to the wall. I don't blame them. Benton loved being this close!
It was a fun morning. Our little animal lover had a ball. We were all worn out and ready for naps that day!
