We haven't been in any real hurry to start food. It's messy, takes a lot of time, and requires cleanup. Our doctor gave the ok at four months, but our muscle control and sitting wasn't there yet. At five months and one week we took the plunge.

It went about like I thought it would. Clayton was not pleased at this new thing offered that was not mommy. He swallowed very little and spit up what he did eat a few minutes later straining to reach something. Caleb was a little more open to trying a new taste. He's a little more adventerous than his brother. They both needed a bath after!
