Nursery Update

Today is a happy day! At 1:00 today I waved goodbye to my 21 precious first graders. As of today, I am officially retired (for now.) It hasn't hit me yet, but I'm sure that it will be a different feeling when August comes and for the first time I'm not in a school building. I will miss the dear friends that I've made over my three years at Wylie. They have supported me through many trials and tribulations. However, the thought of a lesson plan, parent-teacher conference, grading papers free year sounds very appealing at the moment.
Jacki came over after work and we got busy in Benton's room. Although I realize that pictures on the wall aren't a big deal to a baby, I am very relieved to have the nursery waiting for him ready when he arrives. Hunter was thrilled to learn that we were hanging pictures without him. Little did he know we had jobs for him when he got home from work! Like any good daddy would do, he was very helpful and hung very level shelves.
This is a picture Auntie Michelle made for Benton. I was given a short preview a few weeks ago and was so excited to see the finished product. She drew the picture and wrote him some advice. She did such a good job! It looks great above the bed.

We have so many thoughful homemade gifts! M'chelle painted this at our paint your own pottery place in Abilene. I know she spent countless hours on this project and we love it! Fred just had to see what I was looking at too!

I ordered these prints online at farmhousefive.com. Very reasonable prices and lots of kids prints.

We are now 36 weeks. We visited Dr. Mascorro on Tuesday. I am now taking iron because a blood test came back anemic. I am starting to feel very pregnant with puffy fingers, toes, and ankles. Suddenly it is very hot outside, inside, and everywhere for that matter. Benton is still breech, and we go back Tuesday to discuss how we will proceed. I was dilated to a 1 and 50 % effaced. She said that if my water breaks, there is not time to wait for Hunter to come or take a shower. I am to get myself to the hospital right away. It was a little reality check that reminded me that baby is soon to come! Hope that everyone is have a great Thursday!

Benton's nursery is perfect! Won't be long now.

Hey thanks for that website. I've been scouring the net and stores looking for art for Clara's walls that won't break the bank but haven't had much luck. That place has some prints that would be PERFECT!
