School Shower

Even though this shower happend in the beginning of May, I am just now getting to post pictures. The sweet ladies I teach with threw us a baby shower and it was so much fun. In addition to all my teacher friends, Michelle, Jacki, Grandma, Jana, Macey, Erin, and my friend Cynde came. We were overwhelmed by the fun gifts and fellowship. Jana made the comment that it was the most organized, effecient shower she had ever been to. That's teachers for you!
This first picture is with my wonderful principal Mrs. Lambert. Last year she taught down the hall from me, and passed along much wisdom. She is a joy to work for.

This is me with my second grade teacher, Cynde Wadley. In college when I was pondering my major, I decided that I hoped I could be the same kind of teacher as Cynde. Then, I was lucky enough to spend a semester as her student teacher. As she moved on to a postion of technology director for our district I took over her classroom. She has been a true blessing in my life.

Angela and I have taught across the hall for all my three years at Wylie. She was so sweet to help plan Benton's shower. I have enjoyed Angela's friendship and the time we've spent together.

Rebecca and I have been comparing notes on pregnancy throughout this year. Pray for her and baby Carson as we got news she went into labor today.

Hanner women in attendance. Jana made the most wonderful pair of booties for Benton. I can't wait for him to wear them home from the hospital. Unlike my mom, Jana likes surprises. Instead of showing them to me as soon as they were finished, she made me wait until the shower. Erin and Macey added to Benton's camo collection with a winter hat and gloves. I think that every time I see Macey she has something new to give us. What great Aunties he will have!

Honey and Nana

Everyone laughed when I opened Honey's gift because it just kept going and going. He is well stocked on warm soft jammies thanks to his Honey. Michelle and Clara drove in from Terrell to be at the shower. It was so good to see them. Clara wasn't into the shower since she wasn't up front with everyone looking at her! She did enjoy the tour of the school that Macey and Erin gave her. Clara has been to my classroom on several occasions and was glad to be back. She gave her cousin the most precious blue church outfit. I just know that she's ready to boss her little cousin around.

It was such a fun day. I have been so blessed by my time at Wylie.

Right after the shower we packed up and got ready for birthing class. Hunter was sooo excited. After seeing all the pieces of equipment and procedures that would be used in the delivery room, we watched a video of a vaginal delivery and a C-section. I decided that neither option was right for me. I felt like we were back in high school snickering at the "Miracle of Life" video. We left without our appetites and not looking forward to the prospect of delivery! Too late now!
