10 months

Our precious little angels are 10 months (and 12 days) old!  I'm not so good about posting in a timely manner, but have managed to take pictures on the 7th of every month.  Here's a little of what we're up to these days:

Eat:  We are working toward finger foods only.  I am using up the last of the pureed food in the freezer mixed in with cereal in the morning, but we are loving feeding ourselves fruits and veggies for lunch and dinner.  Thank goodness for our dog Fred, who is also currently cleaning up the before mentioned finger food.  Dr. T also recommended we start Caleb on some whole milk with meals to try and add a little more fat to his diet as he has been around 17 lbs. for a few months now.  Clayton is tipping the scales at 21 lbs. 13 ozs. and could stand to "eat about what his brother eats."  We got a good chuckle out of that. They are both still nursing 4 times a day.  We had to leave them for a few days, and Nana was happy to report they both chugged down their bottles.  I had kinda given up in that area and figured we'd just move to sippy cups.

Play:  The boys are at such a fun stage.  Caleb has been crawling since Thanksgiving.  He is now lightning fast, pulls up on everything, cruises on furniture, and will bend down and pick stuff up with one hand while standing.  He loves to dance to music, either with his "raise the roof" hand motion, or rocking back and forth on all fours.  If there is something to unload, he is all over it.  He can clear a bookcase or a toy box in no time.  Clayton has just decided he'd like to move.  I think he was the world's best sitter for the last 4 months.  His reach and flexibility was amazing.  Clayton could gather up toys within a huge radius.  Whatever Caleb was playing with always looked the most fun.  Clayton currently is inchbugging right along.  He sticks his bum in the air and lunges forward.  In no time he'll be as speedy as his brother.  Little people toys invaded our house for Christmas, and the current favorites are the zoo and airplane sets.  Many an animal have slid down the zoo slide.  Anything that shakes and rattles is also popular.

Sleep:  We have moved to two naps most days.  They are usually about 2 hours in length.  If shorter, we are grumpy.  If longer, momma is lucky.  They are usually up and at it by 7:30, and down for the night by 8:30.

Say:  Both boys say momma, dada, wave hi and bye, and sign all done when finished with a meal.  They will roar when asked what a lion, polar bear, or gorilla say.  They will also echo the elephant and cow sounds.  I have heard Caleb say Nana.  Clayton claps for himself and says yea.

Clayton:
-just cut his first two teeth on the bottom.  He was drooly, fussy, and pulled at his ears.
-loves to stand and play, but can't pull up yet.
-enjoys reading books.  He loves the touch and feel kind.
-got put on Zantac twice daily for his overeating/reflux problem.  He seems to lack the "I'm full" feeling
-still prefers to get around by rolling.  He can spin around in circles to aim where he's going
-drinks well from a sippy
-wants to eat what we are eating.  He takes really big bites, doesn't chew, and tries to swallow food whole.  If it doesn't go down the first time, he gags it back up and tries again.
-gets really sad when anyone sneezes or coughs.  First comes a pout, then real tears.  They are so scary!

Caleb:
-is such a flirt.  The ladies love him.
-just cut a top tooth to go along with his two on the bottom.  He has unfortunately been grinding them.
-loves to roam around the house helping me clean the floor.  I can often his little hands slapping on the floor as he crawls.
-got another ear infection.  Nasty mess drained from his ear and two rounds of drops has cleared it up.
-was diagnosed with weather induced asthma.  We have been doing preventative breathing treatments morning and night.
-hates having his diaper changed or getting dressed.  He is a wiggly little thing!
-loves his daddy.  He loves to greet Hunter when he gets home.

I am so blessed to be their momma!
