Gator 911

A guy who has a tv show on CMT about rescuing alligators from the wild came to the civic center. He brought lots of reptiles with him. After his show he had animals for the kids to touch. I thought the little man might like to see some alligators up close and personal.
This is how Benton felt about sitting through the hour plus show. But that's not why we came anyway.
After the show we got in line to take our turn. Benton and Clara were feeling the cousin love this particular day.

Of course, he had no fear of any of these animals. Notice his hand a little close to the turtle's mouth.
Clara even got in on touching. We were all surprised at how brave she was.
Benton on the other hand was being held back so he didn't get the eyes, poke too hard, etc.

This poor guy was not liking his job of holding this giant snake. I don't blame him!
Feeling Banana, the 100 pound snake
Both the kids' favorite was the hedgehog that you can't really see here

All in all, it was a good way to spend a Saturday morning. I hope I'll never be this close to most of these animals again!

Sorry we missed it...looks like fun. I am more like Clara...I don't want to touch!
