Jackson Hole, WY

We try and take a ski trip every year. Hunter has always wanted to go to Jackson Hole, WY and this year we went! He can cross it off his bucket list. We had been there before in the summer, and I loved the town and couldn't wait to go back. We left out of Abilene at 2 in the afternoon, had a little layover at Dallas, then had a two hour direct flight to Jackson. Can't beat that travel! Here we are with all our travel gear ready to head out.
During the layover, little man took a short nap in Nana's arms. Doesn't she look tortured?
Benton awoke shortly after this photo and had the biggest meltdown in his 20 month history. I'm sure our entire plane was excited he was coming. I mean a big, screaming, crying, slobbering, wouldn't stand up fit. He got it all out of his system, and was a perfect little traveler the rest of the trip.

We touched down in Jackson, rented our car, and got a quick bite to eat. Then we headed to the mountain where we checked in to our 3 level, 4 bedroom, 5 bath condo. Almost every room had its own balcony. It was tough, but we stayed there!
It snowed the entire first two days we were there. We just put snow gear on the little man and turned him loose on the (enclosed) balcony!

The boys skied Friday morning while the girls rested from all our travels. They scoped out the runs that didn't look too steep for Macey and me that afternoon. We ate out at a tasty steakhouse and did some shopping in the square.

Saturday Benton went to "little wranglers" day care while our group skied together. We took a few group shots before we dropped him off.

When I picked him up, he told me "snow outside" and "horsey." They took them on a sled ride and fed the horses. Right up his alley!
Our views from the mountain! We were so high that the clouds were below us!

We skied Saturday morning, took a break for lunch, then decided to ride the tram up. I thought it would be like a gondola, but they just opened the doors and 100 people crammed in this thing. You didn't have to worry about hanging onto anything, because you couldn't move! It went all the way to the top of the mountain and had all black and double black runs coming down. The girls also rode the tram back down the mountain and got to enjoy the scenery!

While the boys skied hard, we drank hot chocolate, got Jana some new ski gear, and enjoyed our afternoon at the village. As you can see, I'm more of a half day skier that a full day skier. The girls were all tired from our "ski-in-ski-out-condo" adventure to do any more. We kinda skied off the marked trail in an effort to find our way home for lunch, fell over into waist deep powder, and had to crawl back uphill a ways to our condo. The boys were not so amused.

Jana skied Sunday morning while I stayed with Benton. We had a great time climbing stairs and trying on ski gear for next year.

Benton is in a real daddy stage at the moment. He is wanting to wear boots, untin hats, and untin oves (hunting gloves) just like daddy.

Hunter and I were very grateful to get away, spend time together, and have a fun ski trip. We are blessed to have such a wonderful family to share life's adventures with! Next year Hunter is determined to get Benton on skis!

I'm just like you---a half day of skiing suits me just fine. I'm normally exhausted from just half a day...I don't know how I use to do it when I was a kid!

Wyoming is one of those places on my bucket list too! Dad said he is going to take us all there one year, but I think we're waiting for all the little ones to get just a bit older! Glad you had a great trip!
